The Counter. Hold the Burger.

When you start work at 4 PM, besides being able to sleep as late as you like, you also get the opportunity to have a tasty and filling lunch.

Grabbed dry cleaning on Ashland and headed over to The Counter (666 W. Diversey Pkwy.) for what I believe is one of the more simple yet well constructed BLT’s in the city.

Toasty thick bread, quality Neuske bacon, slightly over ripe tomatoes, shredded lettuce – not leaves – and mayo that’s room temperature or warmer are all the fixins for BLT success. All of this well thought out execution makes a surprisingly stunning sandwich thats not belly bursting – and for $7 – who needs fries.
